Manage user accounts and roles

Unomaly lets you define user accounts and assign different roles to control the type of access that your users have to the data and analytics in the instance.

Creating new user accounts

In the Settings > Users page

1. Enter the Username and Email address.

2. Select a Role: Administrator, Standard User, Limited User. See below for the capabilities of each role.

3. Select one or more Teams to add the user into.

Teams are restricted to systems and groups. Users will only see data from the systems and groups that their Teams have access to. See "Assign Teams and permissions".

4. Click Create User.

The new user will get an email notifying them of the account creation and providing a password to log in.

Editing user accounts

All users can change the email address and reset the password on their own accounts. Only accounts with the Administrator role have additional capabilities to edit other user accounts. Administrators can edit the email address, reset the password and change the Teams for other user accounts.

Capabilities and roles

Unomaly supports three roles:

  • Administrator has full capabilities on the instance, including the capability to edit and remove systems, create user accounts, change instance settings, and so on.
  • Standard User has administrator capabilities except they cannot add, edit, and remove user accounts or make changes to the instance.
  • Limited User provides access to view systems and learnings, without the capabilities to make any changes to the instance.

The following table compares the capabilities for each of the roles in more detail.
