Assign Teams and permissions

Teams are sets of users that are restricted to groups of systems. Unomaly administrators can create Teams, select the system groups that the Team can see, and select users to be members of the Team. This means that users will be able to see only the systems and data (anomalies, situations, actions, knowns, and so on) that are relevant to the Teams that they are part of.

Permissions are the system groups that the Team has access to. Administrators can enable or disable Permissions Management. This means that either you restrict access to system groups or you allow access to all systems.

Create new Teams

In the Settings > Teams page,

1. Enter a Team Name.

2. Select Members to add to the new Team.

Note: The user account has to exist for you to be able to add it to the Team. See "Manage user accounts and roles".

3. Assign Permissions to the Team.

  • Select Don't manage permissions to give this Team access to all systems and groups, including ungrouped systems.
  • Select Manage permissions to select individual systems and groups to assign to this Team.

When assigning permissions, if you select a parent group, you give the Team access to the systems and subgroups it contains. You can select individual systems within the groups. Teams will only see situations, actions, and views that apply to the systems and groups that they have access to.

4. (Optional) If you choose to Manage permissions, you can select to allow users to see ungrouped systems.

This means that teams can see the data from systems that are not part of a group and any new systems that are detected by Unomaly.

5. Click Create.

Edit Teams

Administrators can delete Teams or edit the Team name, members, and permissions. Changes apply immediate after you save them.
